Remind
Simple App, Simple Purpose
Write home, Call home, email, make a post, make a comment, send a carrier pigeon, are there any limits to how hard we will try to get a message to a student? If you want an all-in-one place for student communication, this is it. Conversations can get buried in emails, Remind is great if you want a nice record of all things said ever. Personally, I have stopped using it myself but I do feel it has great potential in certain circumstances.

Reminders are Important

A simple reminder can help you form habits. Of course, students can set reminders themselves but we must scaffold EVERYTHING for them. If your reminder can form the habit of completing work at home, it can also establish the habit of setting reminders themselves.

Parent involvement is an important factor in student success. Remind allows an open line of communication between the parent, student and teacher where all parties can contribute to the conversations.
